Do you believe in the importance of protecting the natural world? Join us in educating younger individuals to help preserve our environment!

The Problem:
  • 90% of climate change and global warming are caused by human activities.

  • Many schools, especially in America, do not convey the severity of these problems.

  • Environmental problems are often briefly covered in schools, typically within a week, which may result in insufficient education for the future generation regarding these issues.

About UrbanGreen: Our Mission

UrbanGreen educates children on the effects of greenhouse gasses on the environment as well as how they can be of help by taking simple steps. Our mission is to motivate younger individuals to make a change in our community by participating in our activities and for them to become responsible leaders who will help improve the damages to the environment. UrbanGreen is run by a team of passionate like-minded volunteers who are dedicated to improving our environment. We aim to go to different elementary schools and implement our hands-on activities to help younger individuals understand the impacts of climate change.

Raising Awareness

Climate Change, An Overview

Climate change has been amplified over these years. This means that there are long term shifts in temperature patterns, precipitation levels, wind patterns, and other aspects of the climate system. These changes are primarily caused by human activities which release green house gasses.

Reducing Your Carbon Footprint

There are many simple steps that you can take daily to reduce your carbon footprint. To start, try planting more trees and greenery. You can also try conserving water like taking shorter showers or using water efficient appliances. One more way to reducing your carbon footprint is by using public transportation instead of cars, since they release a lot of greenhouse pollutants.

Advocating for Environmental Justice

Join us to help make a future generation that is passionate on preserving our planet. We want these young individuals to foster a culture of environmental consciousness by planting community gardens in different schools!

The Harms of Anthropogenic Activities on our Planet

Human activities are largely responsible for the damages inflicted upon our atmosphere. This includes transportation, infrastructure, and the burning fossil fuels among others. All of these activities release greenhouse gasses and other pollutants into the atmosphere. What resulted from these anthropogenic activities was climate change, deforestation, loss of biodiversity, ozone depletion, and pollution. Even though some activities are beneficial to humans, they are causing harm to the environment. It is important to recognize and address these harms to mitigate their impacts on the environment, ecosystems, and human well-being. Sustainable practices, conservation efforts, renewable energy adoption, and responsible resource management are crucial for minimizing the negative effects of anthropogenic activity and preserving the planet for future generations.
